Learn About Becoming An Eligibility Worker
DHHS-Social Services is holding two eligibility worker recruitment events in Eureka in January: Wednesday eveningJanuary 17 from 6 to 8 p.m and Saturday morning January 20 from 10 a.m. to noon. Food will be served. See flyer for details.
These events will provide a forum for people to learn about county employment and how they can become a valued member of the DHHS-Social Services team. DHHS will have an open recruitment for the eligibility worker position from January 10 to January 26 and there are numerous openings for interested, qualified applicants. We hope to increase the number of applicants we get while sharing information about a job and process that people might not know much about. For example, some folks aren’t aware that vacancies are caused by eligibility workers promoting, and that DHHS has family sick leave as a benefit, and that a person doesn’t need a 4 year college degree to qualify.
Many people have questions such as: Is eligibility worker the right job for me? How does county hiring work? What are the benefits? How does a person submit a successful online application? All these questions will be answered and more!
Real live eligibility workers will be available to tell their story and answer questions. The first half will be presentation (and time to eat!) while the second hour will be dedicated to one on one questions and direct assistance in applying for the position.
