37th Annual Six Rivers Running Club's
Atalanta's Victory Run & Walk  

Sunday, May 13th at 10 a.m.

  • This is an ALL Women Event on Mother's Day.  

  • 2 mile run & walk or 8K run & walk

  • Course starts at finishes at the Arcata Co-op.  This flat course through the Arcata Bottoms.  Easy and fun for all generations!  Awards given for 5-year age groups, top three winners in the Stroller Division, and 2- & 3-generation divisions.  Ribbons and flowers given to all finishers!

  • Fees:  $20 for 13 and older; $10 for 12 and under.

In April and May, we have three trainings where the community can learn what the rapid response network is, know their rights and how to observe a raid and participate if they want. We also offer these trainings by request for groups of 10 or more people. This form is where you can register. This is also on our facebook page!

Medical Office Assistant I - Public Health Starts at $13.41/hr, apply by 5/17/18. Minimum qualifications: A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills outlined above is one year of general clerical office support experience. 

The DHHS Public Health Oral Health program is recruiting for a medical office assistant (see attached). Help keep grant materials and oral health supplies organized, take minutes for meetings, and follow-up with our partners as needed.  Enthusiasm, attention to detail and a team player are very important. Of course, excellent communication skills, some experience with oral health/dentistry, and Spanish language skills would be very help. Please help share the recruitment information.

Please note there are several recruitments for an MOA. Be sure to choose the Public Health one if the candidate in interested in oral health.     

  • Social Services Aide (MSS) Starts at $13.54/hr, apply by 5/10. Minimum Qualifications: Equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college, including fifteen (15) semester units in social welfare, social/human service, sociology, or other social or behavioral science; OR

 

Two (2) years of full-time experience comparable to the Homemaker or Vocational Assistant classification; OR

Two (2) years of full-time experience in a public or private Social Services agency providing services to disadvantaged adults or children;

  • Social Worker I (MSS) Starts at $17.73/hr, apply by 5/10. Minimum Qualifications: Pattern 1: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university;

OR

Pattern 2: Successful completion of thirty (30) college semester units (45 quarter units) from an accredited college or university, including fifteen (15) semester units (22.5 quarter units) in social welfare, social/human services, sociology, or other social or behavioral science*;

AND

One (1) year of full-time experience in the Social Service Aide, Eligibility Worker II, Employment and Training Worker II or comparable classification; OR Three (3) years of full-time experience providing direct client services
